This metric probe features an M10 x 1 thread, a 5.0 meter (16.4 feet) cable, and a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector for secure field wiring. The 330104-13-20-50-02-00 probe tip is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the probe case is AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel (SST). The probe case thread is M10 x 1 with a maximum thread engagement of 15 mm. The unthreaded length is 130 mm, the overall case length is 200 mm, and the total length is 5.0 meters (16.4 feet). Nominal probe DC resistance (RPROBE) from center conductor to outer conductor is 8.73 ± 0.50 ohms. The linear range is 2 mm (80 mils), beginning at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target, extending from 0.25 to 2.3 mm (10 to 90 mils) (approximately –1 to –17 Vdc). The recommended gap setting for radial vibration is –9 Vdc (approximately 1.27 mm or 50 mils).
In turbomachinery, compressors, and large pumps, the 330104-13-20-50-02-00 probe monitors shaft radial vibration and axial position. Its 2 mm linear range and –9 Vdc gap setting suit high-speed rotating equipment where early fault detection prevents catastrophic failure. The probe's PPS tip and stainless steel case withstand harsh environments, including high humidity (less than 3% change in Average Scale Factor when tested per IEC 68-2-3 at 93% humidity for up to 56 days).
For field wiring, use 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) three-conductor shielded triad cable with tinned wiring. The maximum cable length between the 3300 XL Proximitor sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). The miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector simplifies cable attachment. Ensure the probe is not pressure tested prior to shipment; contact the custom design department if a pressure seal test is required. The probe is designed to seal differential pressure between the tip and case using a Viton O-ring.
Routine inspection of the probe cable and connector for wear or damage helps maintain measurement accuracy. The standard probe operates from –52°C to +177°C (–62°F to +350°F) for storage and operation. Exposing the probe to temperatures below –34°C (–30°F) may cause premature failure of the pressure seal. For extended temperature ranges, the probe tip withstands –52°C to +218°C (–62°F to +425°F), and the cable and connector handle –51°C to +260°C (–60°F to +500°F).
This 5-meter probe is designed exclusively for use with the 5 meter Proximitor sensor. When installed with intrinsically safe zener barriers per drawing 141092 or with galvanic isolators, it meets Class I, Zone 0: AEx/Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga; Class 1, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; Class III. For non-incendive circuits per drawing 140979, it meets Class I, Zone 2: AEx/Ex nA IIC T5…T1 Gc; Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; and Class I, Zone 2: AEx/Ex ec IIC T5…T1 Gc.
