This 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe, part of the trusted 3300 XL series, features an M10x1 threaded case, integral armor, and a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with FluidLoc cable. Designed for demanding industrial environments, it provides accurate, non-contact measurement of radial vibration and axial position.
The 330104-00-25-10-12-00 offers a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils), starting at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target and extending to 2.3 mm (90 mils). The recommended gap setting for radial vibration is -9 Vdc, approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils). The probe tip is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the case is constructed from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel. The probe case thread is M10x1 with a maximum thread engagement length of 15 mm. The probe weighs 323 g/m (11.4 oz). The nominal probe DC resistance (RPROBE) from center conductor to outer conductor is 7.59 ± 0.50 ohms for the 1.0m length.
This proximity probe is ideal for monitoring rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors in industries like power generation, oil and gas, and manufacturing. Its robust design ensures reliable operation in harsh conditions, helping to prevent unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Field wiring requires 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) wire. Bently Nevada recommends using a 3-conductor shielded triad cable with tinned field wiring. The maximum length between the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). For optimal performance, refer to the frequency response graphs for signal rolloff at high frequencies when using longer cable runs.
The 330104-00-25-10-12-00 operates reliably across a wide temperature range: standard probe from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). The extended temperature range probe handles -52°C to +218°C (-62°F to +425°F) for the tip and -51°C to +260°C (-60°F to +500°F) for the cable and connector. Exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) may cause premature failure of the pressure seal. The probe exhibits less than a 3% change in Average Scale Factor (ASF) when tested in 93% humidity per IEC standard 68 2 3 for up to 56 days.
This probe is designed for use with Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximitor Sensors and compatible monitoring systems. It supports intrinsically safe installations when used with approved zener barriers per drawing 141092 or galvanic isolators, achieving Class I, Zone 0: AEx/Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga; Class 1, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; Class III. For non-incendive circuits per drawing 140979, it meets Class I, Zone 2: AEx/Ex nA IIC T5…T1 Gc; Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; and Class I, Zone 2: AEx/Ex ec llC T5…T1 Gc.
