The 330104-00-07-90-02-05 offers a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils), starting at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target and extending to 2.3 mm (90 mils), corresponding to approximately –1 to –17 Vdc. The recommended gap setting for radial vibration is -9 Vdc, approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils). Nominal probe DC resistance (RPROBE) from center conductor to outer conductor is 9.87 ± 0.50 Ω for the 9.0 m probe length.
The probe tip material is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the probe case material is AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel (SST). The probe case thread is M10x1, with a maximum thread engagement length of 15 mm. The probe weighs 323 g/m (11.4 oz).
This probe operates and stores over a wide temperature range: standard probes handle -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). Extended temperature range probes support -52°C to +218°C (-62°F to +425°F) for the probe tip and -51°C to +260°C (-60°F to +500°F) for the probe cable and connector. Exposing the probe to temperatures below –34˚C (-30˚F) may cause premature failure of the pressure seal. The probe shows less than a 3% change in Average Scale Factor (ASF) when tested in 93% humidity per IEC standard 68 2 3 for up to 56 days.
Field wiring should use 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) wire. Bently Nevada recommends using a 3-conductor shielded triad cable with tinned field wiring. The maximum length between the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). For longer field wiring lengths, refer to the frequency response graphs (Figures 10 and 12) for signal rolloff at high frequencies.
This proximity probe is ideal for radial vibration and position monitoring in turbines, compressors, pumps, and other rotating machinery. Its robust construction and agency approvals (CSA, ATEX, IECEx) make it suitable for hazardous area installations, including Class I, Zone 0 and Class I, Division 2 environments when installed with appropriate intrinsic safety barriers or nonincendive circuits per Bently Nevada drawings.
The 3300 XL probe is designed to seal differential pressure between the probe tip and case using a Viton® O-ring. While probes are not pressure tested prior to shipment, the design ensures reliable long-term operation. Regular inspection of the probe and cable for physical damage is recommended to maintain measurement accuracy.
