The standard probe operates and stores from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). An extended temperature range probe is also available for the probe tip up to +218°C and cable up to +260°C. The probe exhibits less than a 3% change in Average Scale Factor (ASF) when tested in 93% humidity per IEC standard 68 2 3 for up to 56 days.
In steam turbines and centrifugal compressors, the 330104-00-06-50-12-05 provides continuous shaft vibration and position monitoring. Use 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) field wiring, preferably a 3-conductor shielded triad cable with tinned ends. The maximum field wiring length between the Proximitor sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). Refer to the frequency response graphs (Figures 10 and 12) for signal rolloff at high frequencies with longer wiring. Set the gap to -9 Vdc for radial vibration applications.
The 3300 XL 8 mm probe is designed for long-term reliability. The probe sealing material uses a Viton® O-ring to seal differential pressure between the tip and case. Note that probes are not pressure tested before shipment. Exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) may cause premature failure of the pressure seal. Regular inspection of the cable and connector for damage is recommended. The miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and FluidLoc cable provide secure connections in demanding environments.
