The Bently Nevada 330104-00-06-50-02-00 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe delivers the precision and durability needed for continuous protection. This metric probe features a PPS tip, AISI 303/304 stainless steel case, and a 5.0 meter cable with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector. Designed for use with the 5 meter Proximitor sensor, it provides a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils) starting at approximately 0.25 mm from the target. The recommended gap setting for radial vibration is -9 Vdc, corresponding to about 1.27 mm (50 mils).
The probe tip is made from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), offering excellent chemical resistance and dimensional stability. The case is constructed from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance in harsh industrial environments. The M10x1 thread allows secure mounting with a maximum thread engagement of 15 mm.
Nominal DC resistance from center conductor to outer conductor is 8.73 ± 0.50 ohms for the 5.0 meter probe length. Field wiring accepts 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) conductors, with a maximum cable length of 305 meters (1,000 feet) between the Proximitor sensor and monitor.
The standard probe operates from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). An extended temperature range version supports -52°C to +218°C for the tip and -51°C to +260°C for the cable and connector. Relative humidity testing shows less than 3% change in Average Scale Factor after 56 days at 93% humidity per IEC 68-2-3.
Use this probe for radial vibration and axial position monitoring on turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors. The linear range from 0.25 to 2.3 mm (10 to 90 mils) covers typical clearance requirements for critical rotating equipment.
When installed with intrinsically safe zener barriers per drawing 141092 or galvanic isolators, the probe achieves Class I, Zone 0: AEx/Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga ratings. For non-incendive circuits per drawing 140979, it meets Class I, Zone 2: AEx/Ex nA IIC T5…T1 Gc requirements.
Mount the probe using the M10x1 thread with maximum engagement of 15 mm. Ensure the unthreaded length is 0 mm as specified. Use three-conductor shielded triad cable and tinned field wiring for best signal integrity. The 5-meter probe is designed exclusively for use with the 5 meter Proximitor sensor. Verify the recommended gap setting of -9 Vdc (approximately 1.27 mm) for radial vibration applications.
Inspect the probe cable and connector periodically for damage. Avoid exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) to prevent premature failure of the pressure seal. The Viton O-ring provides differential pressure sealing between tip and case. Although probes are not pressure tested before shipment, contact the custom design department if pressure seal verification is required for your application.
