When monitoring roller element bearings and detecting cavitation effects in rotating machinery, the Bently Nevada 200157-01-05 Enveloping Trendmaster Pro accelerometer delivers reliable performance. This sensor is part of the Trendmaster Pro family and is manufactured in the USA. It is designed for use with the ProTIM option for standard acceleration-to-velocity with acceleration enveloping channel type. The 200157-01-05 helps maintenance teams identify early signs of bearing wear and cavitation, enabling proactive repairs and reducing unplanned downtime.
The 200157-01-05 offers a sensitivity of 10.2 mV/(m/s²) (100 mV/g) at 80 Hz, providing accurate vibration measurements. Its measurement range spans ±245 m/s² (±25 g), suitable for typical industrial machinery. The frequency range covers 10 to 10,000 Hz (600 to 600,000 cpm), capturing both low-speed and high-speed vibration events. The mounted resonant frequency exceeds 20 kHz (>1200 kcpm), ensuring reliable data above the measurement band. Amplitude linearity is within ±2% from 1 to 10 g peak, and transverse sensitivity is ≤7%. The accelerometer settles within 300 ms, with an excitation voltage of 4.7 to 5.5 Vdc and quiescent current below 800 µA. Output bias voltage is +2.5 ± 0.23 Vdc. The sensor operates in temperatures from -40 ºC to +105 ºC (-40 ºF to +221 ºF) and withstands axial shock up to 49,050 m/s² pk (5,000 g pk). It is hermetically sealed to 5X10⁻⁸ atm•cc/s maximum. Physical dimensions are 17.5 mm hex x 45.7 mm height, weighing 58 g typical. The mounting thread is 3/8-24 female, with a recommended torque of 2.7 to 6.8 N•m (2 to 5 ft•lbf). The sensing element is ceramic with shear geometry, and the housing is 316L stainless steel.
The 200157-01-05 is specifically designed for roller element bearing monitoring and detecting certain cavitation effects. In industries such as oil and gas, power generation, and manufacturing, this accelerometer helps identify bearing degradation early, preventing catastrophic failures. Its high-frequency response and enveloping capability make it effective for capturing subtle vibration signatures from damaged bearings or cavitation in pumps. By integrating this sensor into a condition monitoring program, facilities can extend equipment life and optimize maintenance schedules.
The mounting stud option 01 includes a 3/8-24 thread and two adhesive mount frames with adhesive. For proper installation, clean the mounting surface thoroughly and apply the adhesive as per manufacturer instructions. Tighten the accelerometer to the specified torque of 2.7 to 6.8 N•m (2 to 5 ft•lbf) to ensure reliable coupling. Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours at temperatures between -55 ºC and +121 ºC (-67 ºF to +250 ºF). Connect the sensor to the ProTIM module using the correct polarity: SIG+ positive with respect to SIG-.
Routine inspection of the accelerometer and its mounting is recommended to maintain measurement accuracy. Check for any physical damage or corrosion on the 316L stainless steel housing. Verify that the adhesive mount remains secure and that the cable connections are intact. The hermetically sealed design protects against moisture and contaminants, supporting reliable operation in harsh environments. Periodic calibration verification ensures consistent sensitivity and linearity over time.
Before purchasing the 200157-01-05, verify that your monitoring system supports the ProTIM option with standard acceleration-to-velocity and acceleration enveloping. Confirm that the mounting thread (3/8-24 female) matches your installation requirements. For complete technical specifications and to check current availability, contact BluePLC Industrial.
