When monitoring slow rotating shafts and fin-fan applications, standard accelerometers often fail to capture reliable low-frequency data. The Bently Nevada 200155-17-05 Low Frequency Trendmaster Pro Accelerometer solves this challenge. Designed for use with the ProTIM Option Low Frequency Acceleration-to-Velocity channel type (-05), this sensor delivers precise vibration measurements in demanding industrial environments. Manufactured in the USA, it offers multiple approvals including CSA, ATEX, and IECEx for global deployment.
The 200155-17-05 features a sensitivity of 10.2 mV/(m/s²) (100 mV/g) at 80 Hz, ensuring accurate low-amplitude detection. Its frequency range extends from 1.5 to 10,000 Hz (90 to 600,000 cpm), referenced to 80 Hz, making it ideal for sub-1 Hz monitoring. The mounted resonant frequency exceeds 20 kHz (>1200 kcpm), providing a wide dynamic range. Amplitude linearity holds within ±2% from 1 to 10 g peak, and transverse sensitivity is ≤7%. The quiescent current is less than 800 µA, and output bias voltage is +2.5 ± 0.23 Vdc. Excitation voltage ranges from 4.7 to 5.5 Vdc. The accelerometer settling time is ≤2000 ms (within 5% of bias).
This accelerometer excels in fin-fan cooling systems and slow rotating machinery where vibration frequencies drop below 10 Hz. In fin-fan applications, the 200155-17-05 detects early bearing wear and imbalance, preventing unplanned downtime. For slow rotating shafts (e.g., kilns, mixers), its low-frequency response down to 1.5 Hz captures critical vibration signatures that standard sensors miss. The rugged 316L stainless steel housing and hermetic sealing (5x10⁻⁸ atm•cc/s maximum) ensure reliable operation in condensing humidity and harsh environments.
Mount the 200155-17-05 using the 3/8-24 female thread with a mounting torque of 2.7 to 6.8 N•m (2 to 5 ft•lbf). The mounting stud option (17) provides a 3/8-24 to 3/8-16 UNC adapter with a 1-3/8 inch hex plate stud for secure attachment. Ensure the sensor base is clean and flat to achieve optimal coupling. Allow 24 hours cure time if using adhesive mounting. Connect SIG+ positive with respect to SIG- for acceleration from base to connector. Verify excitation voltage between 4.7 and 5.5 Vdc before powering the sensor.
From a maintenance engineer's perspective, the 200155-17-05 offers exceptional reliability with its ceramic shear sensing element and hermetic sealing. The sensor operates from -40 ºC to +105 ºC (-40 ºF to +221 ºF) and withstands axial shock up to 49,050 m/s² pk (5,000 g pk). Periodic inspection of the mounting integrity and cable condition is recommended. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion, reducing replacement frequency. For long-term reliability, verify that the quiescent current remains below 800 µA and output bias voltage stays within +2.5 ± 0.23 Vdc during routine checks.
Before purchasing the 200155-17-05, confirm compatibility with your ProTIM option Low Frequency channel type. Verify that the mounting thread (3/8-24 female) matches your installation requirements. For applications requiring multiple approvals, this variant (05) covers CSA, ATEX, and IECEx. Contact BluePLC Industrial to verify current lifecycle status and availability. We stock genuine Bently Nevada parts and can assist with replacement options if needed.
