The 190501-01-99-CN offers a sensitivity of 3.94 mV/mm/s (100 mV/in/s) ±5%. Its frequency response covers 3.0 Hz to 900 Hz (180 to 54,000 cpm) within ±1.0 dB, and extends from 1.5 Hz to 1.0 kHz (90 to 60,000 cpm) within ±3.0 dB. The output bias voltage is 10.1 Vdc ± 1.0 Vdc, with a dynamic output impedance less than 400 Ω typical. The transducer can drive cable lengths up to 305 metres (1,000 ft.) using part number 02173006 without signal degradation. It operates from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F) and stores from -40°C to +100°C (-40°F to +212°F). The shock limit is 5000 g pk maximum, and it withstands 100% condensing humidity (non-submerged). Magnetic field susceptibility is less than 0.0068 mm/s/gauss (0.268 mil/s/gauss) at 50 gauss, 50-60 Hz. The transducer is made of 316L stainless steel, weighs less than 297 g (10.5 oz.), and has a mounting surface diameter of 33 mm (1.3 in) and height of 82 mm (3.2 in).
This velocity transducer excels in monitoring rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and fans. In a refinery, for example, the 190501-01-99-CN can be mounted on a critical centrifugal compressor to detect early signs of bearing wear or imbalance. Mount the transducer using the provided 3/8-in 24 stud with a mounting torque of 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in–lbf ± 5 in-lbf). The unit can be installed in any orientation. The included 32-foot cable connects via a 2-pin 316L stainless steel MIL-C-5015 top connector. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and flat to achieve the specified mounted resonant frequency of 9 kHz minimum. Polarity is such that Pin A goes positive with respect to Pin B when velocity is from base to top of the transducer. For Intrinsically Safe installations, follow drawing 167536.
Routine inspection should focus on cable integrity and connector cleanliness. The 316L stainless steel case provides excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments. The internal electronics are isolated from the case, reducing ground loop issues. The transducer's transverse response is less than 5% of axial sensitivity, ensuring accurate readings. For maximum reliability, verify that the operating temperature stays within -40°C to +85°C and avoid exceeding the 5000 g shock limit. Periodic calibration checks against the ±5% sensitivity tolerance are recommended.
